The Google Play team recently shared on the Android Developers Blog their achievements over the year, as well as their vision for the next phase of Google Play, stressing that it has become easier for people to find and enjoy apps, and that it is no longer just a place to download apps, but a hub where you can discover new things
When Google Play first came out, it was pretty simple — you could browse apps , read reviews, and download them. Now, though, Google Play has evolved into something more dynamic: a place where you can connect with developers, find content that's right for you, and even get personalized recommendations
Here are some of the things Google Play has done this year to improve the platform, as highlighted by Sam Bright, VP and GM of the Google Play+ Developer Ecosystem
• Make it easier for developers to launch new apps: New tools have been added to help developers detect issues early and ensure the quality of their apps
• Finding apps just got simpler: They made it easier to find apps relevant to the user, regardless of the device they're using
• More payment methods: You can now use a variety of payment methods.
• Improved security: Google Play Protect scans billions of apps every day to help keep your device safe
• Developer support: Google Play has programs to help new developers get started, including funding and training opportunities
It seems like they have bigger plans than ever for the future. In the future, they want to make Google Play more interactive and personal. One of those plans is to make it easier for people to pay for apps and content. The improvements to Google Play over the year show that the team is committed to making the platform the best it can be
