Google has provided a very comprehensive update to the Google Messages app , and when checking out the new beta version of the app, there were some changes made to the “compose box” again
Earlier this year, Google Messages featured a pill-shaped compose box with an emoji button at the beginning, followed by Magic Compose, the Gallery, and a “plus” menu. Voice messages were out of the box, in a circle, turning into send after you typed something
In late October, that change was rolled back, with Google reverting to the previous design on the left, pushing the text field to the right, with emoji shortcuts and voice memos located inside it
Google has made some changes again in the latest beta, the text box is now back on the left, but the buttons have been repositioned, Plus is still the first button, then Magic Compose, Emoji comes first, Gallery, while the Voice Memo/Send button stays on the outside, and once you type something, only Plus and Emoji remain
Otherwise, the beta also features a redesigned read receipts, but the implementation seems buggy at the moment and the new design only appears in the main message list
