Microsoft: Opening more than 60 emails may cause Outlook to crash

When you open more than 60  emails on Outlook or try a keyboard combination when copying text, the app freezes and displays different error messages. However, the error messages include tips to fix the problem. You may see a message that says, “We’re sorry, we’re having trouble opening this item. This may be temporary, but if you see it again, you may want to restart Outlook

Another error might appear that says: “Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again.” No matter what error appears, it is still a frustrating problem if you have to open this many emails for some reason.

On the bright side, Microsoft is working on a fix for the issue, but the software giant has not officially announced when this fix will be rolled out, but we hope it will be as soon as possible.

If you need an urgent solution to the problem, Microsoft suggests changing the Windows registry to increase the number of processes allowed at the same time. We do not recommend this because tampering with the Windows registry can cause serious damage, including application failure, crashes, system crashes, and other issues. Other workarounds include downgrading to an older version of Outlook or switching to the new Outlook application
