Meta launches an update to the Messenger app with innovative features to improve calls and communication

Meta has announced the launch of a new update to the Messenger app, which includes a set of features designed to improve the voice and video calling experience and enhance ease of communication. This update comes as part of the company's response to user feedback, with a focus on providing advanced options that make the app more interactive and personal

Smart wallpapers using artificial intelligence

The update adds a feature that allows users to customize video call backgrounds using AI technology. Creative backgrounds, such as picturesque beaches or bustling cities, can be chosen to personalize calls. This feature can be easily activated via the “Effects” icon in the call interface

Messenger supports HD video calls, which are automatically enabled when connected to  Wi-Fi networks . For users who rely on mobile data, HD can be manually enabled via call settings, ensuring greater visual clarity and a more realistic communication experience

Improve sound quality with noise isolation

As part of its call improvement efforts, the app has added advanced tools to isolate ambient noise and highlight sound, which contributes to improving call clarity even in crowded environments. This feature can also be activated through the call settings.

Record voice and video messages

The new update provides the ability to record audio or video messages in case the recipient is unable to respond. This feature also allows the user to record a message that is sent immediately after the call ends, which enhances the ease of communication at times when responding is not possible.

Integration with Siri

For iPhone users, it has become possible to make calls or send messages via voice commands using Siri Assistant, for example, the user can say: "Hey Siri, send a message to "contact name" on Messenger" to complete the task without having to touch the device

A step towards improving user experience

This update reflects Meta's commitment to developing the communication experience via Messenger, by providing features that meet users' needs and add more flexibility and creativity to the way they interact.
