Apple is making another change to screen recording permissions with the release of macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 6, and the company says it means users will see fewer permissions pop-up dialogs on their Macs.
According to the Phone Arena website, during the early beta versions of macOS Sequoia , these screen recording permissions were designed to appear once a week.
This means you'll see a permissions box weekly for each app that has permission to record your screen, and in later betas of macOS Sequoia, Apple tweaked the policy and started asking users monthly.
Also in the release notes for macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 6, Apple says it's making further changes to reduce the number of permission windows users see through ScreenCaptureKit. Apps that use older content capture technologies now have improved user awareness policies, and users will see fewer permission windows if they regularly use apps that have already acknowledged and accepted the risks.
