OpenAI has rolled out the ChatGPT app to all macOS users. Earlier, the feature was limited to GPT Plus subscribers, but all Mac users can download the app from their official website for free
Sharing a video on microblogging site X, OpenAI said: “ChatGPT app for macOS is available to all users. Get faster access to ChatGPT to chat about email, screenshots, and anything on your screen with the Option + Space shortcut.”
Users can launch ChatGPT via a simple keyboard command “Option+Space” that opens the app from any screen on your Mac. The native app on Mac allows users to quickly take a screenshot of the entire screen or part of it and upload it directly into the app to ask questions about it, according to Gadgets 360.
Apart from this, users can also upload files and images. The AI feature can process those images using computer vision and answer any questions related to them.
According to 9To5Mac, GBT Chat for macOS allows the user to easily interact with a chatbot
For a hands-free experience, the app also allows users to interact with GBTChat using their voice through the Voice Mode feature
Also, OpenAI will be rolling out an upgraded version of ChatGPT Voice Mode with GPT-4o capabilities in the coming weeks, according to 9To5Mac
Recently, during WWDC 2024, Apple announced that access to GPT Chat will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, allowing users to access GPT Chat knowledge without having to switch between tools
Additionally, Apple GPT will be available in Apple's system-wide writing tools, which help users create content for whatever they write about
However, OpenAI also said that ChatGPT will also be coming to Windows later this year. “We had planned to start rolling this out in alpha to a small group of ChatGPT+ users in late June, but we need an additional month to get to our launch bar,” OpenAI said
