Android Authority revealed that Google's password manager now allows passwords to be shared, albeit in a limited way, with family members. Google said, “Thanks to this new feature, you can now securely share your passwords with your family group in the password manager.” “At Google, when you share a password, your family members will receive a copy of it in the Google Password Manager.”
Google first announced this feature in February 2024 as part of Safer Internet Day, but it is finally rolling out the feature as part of the May 2024 Google Play Services update, version 24.20. Password sharing is limited to members of the family group, so you will need to create one and add any members. to be used.
If you have a family group, the Share button should appear as an option in Google's password manager. However, Android Authority noted that the feature may not yet be enabled in the desktop version of Chrome.
Earlier, Google wrote about possible examples of its use, such as “if two family members coordinate daycare through a single account, or if a child allows a parent to access their schoolwork.”
